Essay Edition

This essay is a near-verbatim adaptation of the live spoken teaching, edited only for continuity and readability.

Today, I am settling in for a quiet day. It is almost Christmas Eve, and perhaps many are busy with other things, but I feel this is a good time to go deeply into meditation. I have been working a little too hard for the last three days, and now it is time to pause, to settle in, and to do this properly. I think today is a good day for a long meditation, and perhaps I will briefly talk about Practice—spiritual practice. That could be the sermon of the day, but first, let us dive right into the meditation.

I begin by bringing my attention to the third eye—the spot right at the front of the forehead. I feel that spot, holding my attention there, almost as if I am looking at it. The spot is activated; it feels like a magnetic pressure. I give it my attention and use my finger, touching my forehead or even just hovering my finger there. The third eye is activated. I spend a few more moments here.

Now, I bring my attention to the heart center. I notice how I experience the heart and the third eye—both more activated. I am more present in the moment. I allow myself to feel sweetness, kindness, gratitude, bliss, happiness, generosity. I anchor that beautiful state, making sure I feel it energetically in the chakra. I imagine being in a hot tub of goodness and gentleness. I can put my hand down now and try to feel my heart expand. I let it expand so much that it literally touches the walls and envelops the house. Expansion can be a reaching, but it can also simply be a wholeness. It is amazing how simply choosing to let the heart expand gives it a sense of transformation. It transforms its size. We walk around in our own bodies, but when we are in toroidal fields of awareness, we are using that. I make it work.

Next, I go to the navel center, one inch below the belly button. This is the seat of will—willpower. Sometimes I connect with that spot, especially with the middle fingers. The key is palms down for the navel, palms up for the heart. It is important to work with all three legs of the Dan Tian together. I can physically feel this one, just like the heart and the third eye. I feel it in the abdomen, but also expanding as the heart does, in front of the body. I invoke the abdomen; it feels a little like a fiery heat, a little magnetic. It is both within the body, very visceral, and also expands in front of the body. This is my willpower energy. I stay on the navel center a little longer; it is very important. It is empowering to the whole energy body. It is discipline, self-command, stability, integrity—even love, when it serves the heart.

I feel the power in the music and let it move me, hold me, transform me. Whether the navel center is in front of the body, it is a vortex of energies—expansive. I want to feel warrior-like, with a sense of being poised. If I have stayed with the navel for that long, wonderful. Now, I return to the heart center, then move up to the throat chakra at the base of the neck, and then to the third eye. I remain there for about ten seconds.

Right in the middle of the brain, there is a chakra. I focus on that, staying with it for now—it is right in the center of the brain. I try to sense that spot with my awareness, high in the third eye. Now, I raise my attention to the crown—the very top of the head. Above the head, there is a pillar of energy. It often feels like a tingling sensation on the top of the head. There are other qualities as well, such as a sensation of energy dripping from the top of the head. I should feel tall, with a sense of awareness and vitality extending a foot or two above, as well as in the scalp and at the crown.

There is a pillar of light that extends straight upward for miles, but even just focusing two feet above is beneficial. This is a transcendent chakra, and I am ready for it. I sense that my pillar, my axis, is taller now. I simply become present, reaching out with my mind. I raise my hand as I am doing, actually touching the node—both on my head and above. When I touch it, it creates an electrical or magnetic connection—something palpable. I cultivate that sensation. I usually use the middle finger to make the strongest connection; that is the universal biological and energetic pattern. If my arm becomes tired, I can always switch to the other arm.

When I touch the node above the head, I simultaneously feel a sense of fullness. There are subtle movements, a flux, and boxes of magnetic transportation. It aligns perfectly with the sun. If I have not done so, I turn my palm upward toward the sky, moving it from near my head up as high as I can reach. That is my middle finger moving through a divine current. I can take a few strokes upward through this luminous liquid. If I do it correctly—or the more I do it—it elevates me. It is quite a feeling.

I fill the entire constellation of chakras, all the vortices, activating together—from the base of my axis all the way to the crown and above. I remain deeply centered in the heart. Arms and head up, I feel the energetic vitality, and then simply enjoy the sensation. I let myself relax into it with the music.

I have arrived in the present moment. This is my energy, my cultivation. I really get comfortable with myself. I feel the warmth of being at home—in my own body, in my own heart, right now. I hold myself, cherishing this moment. For now, I just sink into that warmth. I am happy, simply because I am.

This is the final song for this meditation. I really savor it. That is my heart—warm and expansive. I feel my chest, the love, the gratitude. All along, it was me—it was meditation. Goodbye, and thank you. It is a love story with existence. And if I have not smiled yet, I should give myself a little smile. A small smile, or a big one. I notice what is happening with my eyes or my mouth—the whole being. I have to love this practice. I am at home in myself. When I am ready, I can slowly come out of the meditation.

I have not cried in class, I think, in a while. These are tears from the heart—tears of joy. It is not about needing it; it is simply that it did me good. We all need it. Sometimes my head is everywhere, but eventually, I feel relaxed and calm. Sometimes I experience light or energy—purple with green things coming out of it, or at my navel, a royal blue. Sometimes I feel it physically, sometimes not. I keep trying, placing my finger about half an inch below my belly button to activate the navel center. It is a good one to really activate. I can feel all of them at the same time. It is good to awaken them; I can feel them all the time. If I find a little trail that it leaves behind, I follow it vigilantly. I try to hold it, no matter what I am doing. In the middle of a conversation, I might think, “Wait, I felt my navel center.” Then I just hold it.

I am allowed to have my own power, and it is in service to the heart. The crown—I can feel it all the way up, as if it goes through, and I can touch it all the way. This is my crown, all the way through. Sometimes I see a mountain, a hill with houses on it, or a stadium with people doing exercise together—stretching, all wearing the same. It feels like a Tai Chi practice day.

Sometimes, before meditation, I am communicating with the Higher Self of a loved one, and so a lot of my energy is going to that. But eventually, I focus, and it is very expansive and light-filling. It is a wonderful, expansive experience. I notice how starting with just silence in the beginning is a good way to process everything and take some time. Then I start with the heart, and then I can start adding the others. The more I do this, the more it becomes a part of me. Daily practice is very good. I have been focusing on daily practice all weekend.

I feel gratitude for the opportunity to share this practice, to be together in this way, even if quietly and simply. There will be a time for celebration, for gathering, for meditation as a club, as a party. For now, I wish everyone happy holidays, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. I am grateful for this practice, for the presence, for the energy, for the love. Namaste.

Adam Wes Mom.

Can you not hear me?

Colin W We can hear you, Adam.

Oh, Mom is not answering.

She has her mic muted.

No, she is not even speaking.

Yeah.

Mom?

Colleen Go ahead.

Colin W Did you…

See what I sent you?

Colleen Yes? And you… I just saw what you said. You mean the…

I just wanted you to see—do not say it. Yes, do not say it out loud.

Colleen Is it…

Let us just look at it first.

Colleen I have been doing something else, so I am only just seeing it now.

Oh, okay, that is fine.

Colin W Hello, Ariella.

Ariella Bye!

Good buddy.

Okay, so I am going to text people, because I did not let anybody know, and…

Colleen It is almost Christmas Eve, so I am sure people are busy with other things today.

Yes.

Yeah?

I still taste them.

Colleen I am not sure what is going to happen next week when we are in South Africa.

Ariella Yes!

Ariella I was enduring.

Okay, everyone, we need to…

Settle in. This is a time to settle in, not just because very few people are here. This is not a time for small talk.

Colleen Having a party.

No, we need to do this properly.

It will be a very quiet day.

I am settling in.

Maybe someone else will join us soon. We will start in a minute or two.

Cue.

Andrea, thank you for letting me know.

I am thinking today is a good day for a long meditation.

Perhaps I will briefly talk about Practice.

I suppose that could be the sermon of the day.

Practice.

Spiritual practice.

Perhaps we will talk about that at the end. Let us dive right into the meditation.

I have been working a little too hard for the last three days.

On what some of you have just looked at.

Mom and Andrea both saw it.

Can you hear the music clearly?

Let us begin.

Guided Meditation Through Energy Centers

Let us bring attention to the third eye.

The spot right at the front of the forehead.

I was feeling that spot.

Hold your attention there.

Almost as if you are looking at it.

The spot is activated.

It feels like a magnetic pressure.

Give it your attention.

And use your finger.

Touch your forehead, or even just hover your finger there.

Activated.

Actually, yes, that is fair.

Let us spend a few more minutes on the third eye.

Now, let us bring attention to the heart center.

Notice how we experience the heart and the third eye.

More activated.

You will be more present in the moment.

Bill, you are the sweetest, kindest, most grateful, blissful, happy, generous person.

Allow yourself to feel that.

Anchor that beautiful state.

Make sure you feel it energetically in the chakra.

In a hot tub.

Goodness.

Gentleness.

You can put your hand down now. Try to feel your heart expand.

Let it expand so much that it literally touches the walls.

And envelops the house.

Expansion can be a reaching, but it can also simply be a wholeness.

It is amazing how simply choosing to let the heart expand gives it a sense of transformation.

It transforms its size.

We walk around in our own bodies.

When we are in toroidal fields of awareness, we are using that.

Make it work.

Are you with us, Andrea?

Not sure if you are there.

Let us go to the navel center.

One inch below the belly button.

This is the seat of will.

Willpower.

Sometimes I do this—kind of get it to connect with that spot, especially with the middle fingers.

The key is palms down. Palms up is heart, palms down is navel.

And it is important to work with all three legs of the Dan Tian together.

I can physically feel this one, just like the heart and the third eye.

You can feel it in the abdomen, but also expanding as the heart does.

In front of the body.

Invoke the abdomen.

It feels a little like a fiery heat.

A little magnetic.

It is both within the body, very visceral, and also expands in front of the body.

This is your willpower energy.

Let us stay on the navel center a little longer. It is very important.

It is empowering to the whole energy body.

It is discipline, it is self-command.

Stability.

Integrity.

Even love.

When it serves the heart.

Feel the power in the music, and let it move you. Hold you. Transform you.

Whether your navel center is in front of the body, it is a vortex of energies. Expansive.

At a partyalla. Keep it up, especially with the name practice. You want to feel warrior-like, with a sense of being poised. Good job.

If you stayed with the navel for that long, wonderful. Let us return to the heart center. Now, move up to the throat chakra at the base of the neck. Then to the third eye. Remain there for about ten seconds.

Right in the middle of the brain, there is a chakra. Go ahead and focus on that. Stay with it for now—it is right in the center of the brain.

You can take a few strokes upward through this luminous liquid. If you do it correctly—or the more you do it—it elevates you. It is quite a feeling.

Alright. Fill the entire constellation of chakras, all the vortices, activating together—from the base of your axis all the way to the crown and above. Remain deeply centered in the heart.

Arms and head up. Feel the energetic vitality. And then simply enjoy the sensation. Let yourself relax into it with the music.

You have to love this practice. You are at home in yourself. When you are ready, you can slowly come out of the meditation.

I have not cried in class, I think, in a while.

Reflections on Sensation, Imagery, and Practice

Colleen Did you say?

Adam Wes I have not cried in class, I think, in a while. Tears of joy.

Colleen Oh.

That is nice. I would say, oh, like that.

Colleen No, because my eyes are watering, so I thought you were thinking I was crying, but…

Oh, okay.

Colleen Sleep… sleepy. It is…

Well, no, I am actually… I am actually crying. But… These are tears from the heart. Namaste, Mama, how was your meditation?

Colleen Looks like you really needed that.

No, it is not about needing it, it is…

Colleen No, I think it did you good.

Oh, it did me good, but that does not mean I needed it. It means…

Colleen We all need it. So, how was it? It was good. My head was everywhere, but eventually, I felt relaxed and tired and… Calm is the word—maybe not tired.

Did you experience any light or energy?

Colleen Yes, I saw… I could not do this energy. It did not work for me. Here, I felt that tightness again.

Yes.

Colleen And so… and I saw a lot of purple with green things coming out of it, and then at my navel, I saw a royal blue, so maybe something is happening there.

Did you feel it physically?

Colleen No.

That is an interesting scene.

Colleen I am not very sensitive physically, but I do feel the third eye. I cannot do the navel.

Yes, keep trying. You should place your finger about half an inch below your belly button.

Colleen I did.

That is a good one to really activate. And you did not feel the crown? You can feel… right now, I feel…

All of them at the same time. It is good to awaken them. You can feel them all the time. If you find a little trail that it leaves behind, follow it—vigilantly. Try to hold it. If you notice it, just hold it, no matter what you are doing.

In the middle of a conversation with someone, you might think, “Wait, I felt my navel center.” Then just hold it. Ariella says to her husband, “Hold on, I am working on my navel center.” And he calls you by your birth name. That is funny.

Yes, nice job, Mom. Wonderful. Just keep trying.

Maybe when we are in person, we can work on that, because I really think it is very good for you. It is your willpower. You might even be resisting it a little bit. You are allowed to have your own power, and it is in service to the heart.

And then the crown—I think we have not even tried that one yet—but this one, you can feel it all the way up like this. It is as if… it goes… I feel it like this; I can touch it all the way. This is my crown, all the way through.

Colleen Coug.

Adam Wes Yeah.

Or maybe one day, but I did see… a mountain, a hill with houses on it, and I did see a stadium with people doing exercise in the same… Beautiful.

What kind of exercise?

Like stretching and things like that. They were all wearing the same… like a little black, and… I do not know where that came from.

It sounds like… that sounds like Japan or something, where they have Tai Chi… a Tai Chi practice day. That is cool. Namaste, Mom, thank you.

Colleen Thank you, Adam. Namaste.

Adam Wes Can you do it again? I want to see it. Aw, thank you. And how about you, Ariella? What is it? You are muted.

Ariella It was a very wonderful, expansive experience. It was a bit difficult for me in the beginning, because I… I was communicating with the Higher Self of one of my grandchildren before I came to meditation, and so a lot of my energy was going to that. But eventually I focused, and it was very expansive, and… light-filling.

Adam Wes Beautiful. Namaste. Good job. Notice how we started with just silence in the beginning? That is a good way to start before you even do the energy—just to process everything and take some time. It is a good way, and then you start with the heart, and then you can start adding the others.

Oh, we did… we did an hour, or maybe it was 55… 55 minutes. That was a long one today. Namaste, Ariella, thank you.

Ariella Thank you. Namaste.

Adam Wes A mistake. Hi, Andrea.

Andrea P Hi, hello!

Adam Wes Sorry, I was…

Andrea P In… stuck in traffic.

Adam Wes That is okay. As you can see, this is a slow day, and that is okay.

Andrea P Yes, but I thought it was going to be hard for me, because I had to get out of the car, and… so I had, like, a two-part meditation. But the first part, in the car on the highway, everything was pitch black. And I went into it very easily. I find that every time, it is getting easier.

And once I got home and we started doing this… heart and pineal gland chakras, I kept seeing this green light. So, that was nice.

Adam Wes Awesome! Wonderful. Wow, and you saw… and everything was black, too? Was it a visual experience?

Andrea P No, it was, like, where I was… I was in the middle of the highway, and everything—even though I had my eyes closed—it felt…

Andrea P Like it was black all around, because it was black around me. There were no lights.

Adam Wes You are sure it was? There is a black energy in meditation, and if you find that, it is actually the deepest energy—the most subtle.

Andrea P Yes, no. No, I do not think it was that. I think it was just the situation.

Adam Wes Oh, okay.

Andrea P That it helped, yes.

Adam Wes But you saw some green light—that is wonderful. Yes, the more we do this, the more it becomes a part of us. So, daily practice is very good. I have been focusing on daily practice all weekend.

I will send you all—well, I sent Mom and Andrea my new website. I have not really announced it yet, but it is… That was a lot of work, and thanks to Andrea's wonderful suggestion, I am going along with this. I think it is a brilliant idea. Perfect. So, thank you, Andrea.

Andrea P Great. Have a stay.

Adam Wes Yeah, namaste.

Ariella Oh, I would also like to see your website.

Adam Wes Oh yes, I am going to send it to you very shortly. It has your photo on it. It has Ariella's photo! Hey, Dad, namaste. Thanks for being here. I hope you had a good meditation.

And yes, we will just be slow until the new year, and then we will be…

There will be an event, a party. A meditation… club. What? Are you unmuting, Mom? Are you going to say something, or are you just…

Closing Plans, Greetings, and Farewells

Colleen I am… Yes, we have to do something, but I just wanted to say we celebrate Christmas. Andrea, Merry Christmas.

Adam Wes Oh, yes!

Colleen Happy New Year to all of you!

Adam Wes Yes, I should definitely be saying Merry Christmas to everybody.

Andrea P Merry Christmas.

Adam Wes Huh.

Alright, everyone, well, Andrea, can we talk in half an hour? Is that okay, or is that too late?

Andrea P Yes, it is fine.

Adam Wes Okay. Like, 15 to 30… well, we could just jump on exactly half an hour, if that is okay. Or do you want to do maybe 15? Is that better?

Andrea P How… yes, what time is it there? Here it is 9:16.

Adam Wes Yes, like, 9:31 your time?

Andrea P Great. Yes, let us do that.

Adam Wes Okay, see you soon.

Andrea P Bye.

Adam Wes Bye, everybody!

Colleen Bye, thank you, Adam.

Adam Wes Happy holidays.

Ariella Yes.

Adam Wes Welcome, Ariella. Good smile, Ariella, there you go.

Study Guide

The lesson explored a long, quiet meditation focused on energetic cultivation through multiple chakras—especially the third eye, heart, navel (will), and crown—emphasizing settling in, feeling subtle sensations, and letting practice become something that can be held throughout daily life.

Theme of the Lesson

Spiritual practice as embodied energy cultivation: settling in, activating the chakras with attention, and learning to “hold” the felt sense of presence and warmth in everyday life.

Key Points
  • This was a time to settle in, with a quiet, serious tone rather than small talk.
  • Attention was placed on the third eye: holding awareness there “almost as if you are looking at it,” noticing magnetic pressure, and optionally using a finger to touch or hover at the forehead.
  • The heart center was emphasized through expansion: letting the heart expand so much it “touches the walls” and “envelops the house,” sensing transformation through simple choice.
  • The navel center was taught as the seat of will: willpower energy connected with discipline, self-command, stability, integrity, and love when it serves the heart.
  • Hand orientation was used as a support: palms up associated with heart, palms down with navel, and working with multiple centers together.
  • Music was used as an energetic support: letting it move, hold, and transform the practitioner.
  • Attention moved through throat, third eye, a center in the middle of the brain, and then the crown and above—sensing a pillar of energy extending upward.
  • Touching the node at the crown/above the head was described as creating a palpable electrical or magnetic connection, cultivated through repeated sensing.
  • The meditation culminated in feeling at home in the body and heart, savoring warmth, gratitude, and a simple happiness.
  • Daily practice was encouraged, including noticing subtle “trails” of sensation and holding them during ordinary activities.
Assignment

Carry the felt sense of practice into daily life by noticing when any chakra sensation appears (even briefly) and gently holding it—especially the heart’s warmth and the navel’s willpower—letting that “trail” remain with you in the middle of whatever you are doing.

Actionable Focus for the Week
  • Settling in before meditation with a little silence to process and arrive.
  • Giving steady attention to the third eye and noticing any magnetic pressure or activation.
  • Letting the heart expand as a felt experience of wholeness.
  • Spending extra time with the navel center as willpower energy, staying with it longer when possible.
  • Exploring the crown and the space above the head as a pillar of light, even just two feet above.
  • Using touch (finger/hand) as a way to sense and strengthen connection at the forehead, crown, and above.
  • Noticing subtle energetic “trails” during the day and holding them in the middle of conversations or tasks.
Optional Reflection Prompts
  • Where did practice feel most “palpable” this week—heart, third eye, navel, crown, or above?
  • What happens when the heart expands without reaching—just as wholeness?
  • When willpower arises, how does it feel when it is “in service to the heart”?
